The Lyon-based collective, FEMMES EN REVOLUTION (Women in Revolution), brings together several women’s associations, including the association implementing the project, Femmes contre les intégrismes (FCI - Women against fundamentalisms). This association was founded in 2011 to organize a week-long conference and debate held last September focussing on women and the revolutions in Arab and Middle Eastern countries.

This week of meetings and discussions gave birth to what has become a sustained dynamic: between both feminists from across the Mediterranean and Middle East and within the Lyonnais collective that implemented the project. Over that week, an activist collected 10 hours of statements, portraits and news reports which now must be edited and broadcast under the title: Women in Revolution, Act I.
