Pléiade Caravan

La Pléiade works to maintain access to rights and to combat all forms of exclusion and discrimination.

Its project, “Caravan for equality and against all discrimination” is a means to build awareness and provide women information on their access to rights, as well as providing a place for exchange and debate between women from underprivileged neighborhoods regarding problems and possible solutions to better “live together”. By enabling women’s rights activists from Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco to come to their neighborhoods in Nimes, the caravan allows women who often are captives of their environment or native culture in low-income housing estates to break out of their isolation and create a women’s citizenship dynamic that may lead to a real participation of women in the affairs of the city.
