Union Féministe Libre

Support from the Mediterranean Women's Fund has enabled the creation of the "El Hasnae" shelter. The objective of this shelter is to provide an emergency shelter, as a temporary safe place, for survivors to get away from places where it is too dangerous for them to stay.
 
The project of a shelter for victims of violence is a continuation of the activities of the UFL, and intends to respond to the urgency of the context of the health crisis and the increase in violence. 

The Union Féministe Libre was the first structure to obtain the authorization of the Moroccan government to work on the theme of violence related to gender and sexual orientation, and was founded in 2016. This young and dynamic NGO, which brings together young and old, is also launching the first application in Morocco to document and report on violence against women and LGBTQI+ people.  

Convinced that women and men can suffer several forms of violence, domination or discrimination simultaneously, the Union Féministe Libre is present on several fronts: assisting survivors of violence, assiduously advocating for legislative changes and organizing events to transmit its values and raise awareness among all, even in isolated areas of Morocco.
