The Sanad initiative is a group of women lawyers and young women who have a human rights and feminist consciousness derived from their knowledge of the Egyptian constitution, laws and international agreements. Created in January 2021 and mostly working in Cairo, Sanad specializes in legal support to women with all their intersections who have survived violence, and they aspire to form a defense front of more specialized and conscious women lawyers. Sanad began working on legal support for women by supporting survivors of violence, in general, and domestic violence in particular. They have been targeting all age groups of women, and sexual, gender and religious pluralisms for nearly two years. They train fresh law students and female lawyers to prepare female legal cadres to help them launch their own initiatives and institutions in relation to feminism and women's issues.
