Les Jaseuses

The Mediterranean Women's Fund has participated in the financing of the Monique Wittig Year. The association Les Ami-es de Monique Wittig has launched the #Wittig2023 to encourage productions around the author and theorist Monique Wittig this year. 2023 is the 20th anniversary of Wittig's death, and the 50th anniversary of the publication of her book The Lesbian Body. In this context, Les Jaseuses will organize a series of seminars and reading and writing workshops around her work; a podcast of interviews with researchers, authors and writers; an exhibition around the vegetal motif in Wittig's work (call for proposals in December 2022).

The support of the Mediterranean Women's Fund financed a study day linked to the launch of the book of the Jaseuses "Draft for a Feminist Encyclopedia of Myths". It gathers more than one hundred contributions (scientific texts, short stories, poems, illustrations...) around the issue of myths and their feminist reinterpretations and rewritings. In this context, a study day will be organized for the launch of the book.

The support of the Mediterranean Women's Fund has contributed to the financing of a one-week retreat of living together, transmitting know-how and creation (called "béguinage" in echo to a history of women's communities) which has already been organized in 2021 and 2022 by a small number of members. The will to gather a larger number made it necessary to rent a collective place in 2023.
