CLCI trained a new pro bono team on digital violence against women and girls. Students from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana took part as well. The aim of the training was strengthening knowledge and skills on digital violence, international standards, national legislation, responsible institutions and reporting cases of digital violence. They also offer free legal support for women and girls who are victims of digital violence and other forms of gender-based violence. They sought support from the MedWF for the salary of the project coordinator as well as for the project itself.

The Center for Legal Civic Initiatives (CLCI) operates as a legal and psychosocial service center for abused and impoverished women. All services provided are free of charge. The mission of the center is to support, assist and provide legal education to citizens, giving priority to women and girls, in order to increase their access to public institutions, and in particular to the judicial system. In 2021, the Mediterranean Women's Fund funded a project to collect data on the "referral mechanisms" of women victims of violence. The results of this study helped monitor the proper functioning of the referral system as well as identify achievements, lessons learned and challenges for the future. The data study is conducted in six Albanian provinces: Berat, Lushnja, Mallakaster, Tepelene, Kruje, Roskovec. Women survivors, referred by the coordinators present in one of the 6 regions, received free legal assistance, online or face to face. The results were shared with the local coordinators of the six municipalities involved in the study and with local associations during a roundtable discussion in Berat. Thus, the findings of the data study on "referral mechanisms" can be used for advocacy purposes. |
