L'association The Babelmed association, founded in 2001 and based in Rome, has the mission to report on the cultural richness of Mediterranean societies and to echo the major debates that cross the region with a particular focus on equality and gender.
At the dawn of 2018, Babelmed is getting ready to make a fresh start. Some 10,000 articles, covering the turbulence experienced by Mediterranean citizens over more than 15 years, will be made available on mobile phones and tablets. Thus renovated, Babelmed will maintain its editorial line on the same course: telling the story of the societies of both shores of the Mediterranean, while paying particular attention to the artistic and cultural ferments that animate them. This new formula will be based on the partnership relations forged over the last few years with the independent media of the region, grouped in the Web platform Arts Résistances and in the Network of Independent Media in the Arab World.

Creation of five new briefs, each containing 4 publications, in continuation of what has been undertaken with the editorial change and the publication of briefs on women in the Mediterranean. The second part consists of the organization of a meeting for the women members of the editorial committee, in order to organize a workshop to strengthen writing skills and launch an editorial and production plan. This writing workshop and editorial meeting would result in the writing of texts that would be published on the site. +plus

The objective is also to create a space for women bloggers in BAB and to open this space to the MEDFEMINISSWIYA network, a Mediterranean network for feminist information. +plus
