The Mediterranean Women’s Fund is run by women coming from Algeria, Spain, Morocco and France. Their experience in various women’s movements gives them a practical knowledge of the possibilities and the difficulties met by women’s associations around the Mediterranean region.
Organisation
The Mediteranean Women's Fund is an association governed by French legislation concerning charities and non-profitmaking associations. It is composed of a board and a staff who have an overall reponsability for their actions.
It relies on :
- an honorary committee composed of women who have been implicated in women's struggles throughout the Mediterranean region
- an advisory committee gathering women living in different countries of the Mediterranean region

The Mediterranean Women’s Fund makes use of the experiences of other international women’s rights funders. It is part of the International Network of Women’s Funds and of the Women's Funding Network.
It is also developing partnerships with human rights funders who work in the region African Women’s Development Fund,Urgent Action Fund-Africa,Arab Women’s Fund, Arab Human Rights Fund, Euro- Mediterranean Foundation of Support to Human Rights Defenders...
